Peanut Allergies

The ministry of education has drawn our attention to the importance of ensuring a safe environment for students with severe food allergies.

There is a student in your child’s class with a life-threatening allergy to peanuts, nuts and peanut/nut products. Severe life-threatening reactions will occur if this child eats or is in contact with peanuts or nut products.

Prevention, of course, is the best approach allergy cases like this one. We therefore need to request your cooperation in the following way. We ask that no one brings peanuts, nuts, or nut products into the class in snacks or lunches. This will mean no peanut butter sandwiches or cookies, etc. We are also asking all children in the classroom not to share their snacks or lunches as an additional safety precaution as many prepared meals may contain nut by products.
